And the winner is...

After a good night sleep Hiwi the kiwi
got out of his leaves. He decided to
go fishing. He got out his torch because
it was getting dark.  He packed his
lunch of worms and grubs. Hiwi put
on his life jacket. He got into his boat
and sang a song while he waited for
a fish.  He caught a snapper on his
fishing rod and when he turned the
handle it glowed in the dark. Hiwi
put his fish in salt and ice and took
it home to share with his family. He
put his lunch paper wrapper in the bin.

School Kit NZ Writing Project

We have had so much fun learning more about our class this term through the NZ Writing Kit.  We learned how to write metaphors and came up with some interesting ones about ourselves.  It was so exciting to send our pack off to Greenhithe School and then to receive their pack back!  We have written some more postcards to tell them what we enjoyed finding out about them.  We look forward to connecting with Greenhithe more this year.

Making Albatross Wings

While we were reading Toroa's Journey we discovered that the average wingspan of an Albatross is 3m.  We got measuring to see how big that is!  We also tried to turn them into piece of art:)

Maria Gill Author Visit

We were so lucky to have Maria Gill, author of Toroa's Journey, come to talk to us about writing, her motivation and her wonderful books.  What did you learn from Maria or find really interesting from her talk?
